ATTEND COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL IN PITTSBURGH!
Our 1,250-hour Cosmetology Program is designed to give you the ultimate beauty education experience. As a cosmetologist, your scope of license includes hair, skin care, and nails. At South Hills Beauty Academy & North Hills Beauty Academy we make it a priority that our students are well rounded in all aspects so you are salon ready upon graduation. Our qualified instructors will teach you everything from the basics to advanced methods in hair design including: styling, cutting, color, chemical texturizing, hair extensions and more. Our instructional cosmetology school in Pittsburgh also includes makeup, skin care, waxing, nail enhancements, manicures, and pedicures.
By becoming a cosmetology student, you’re not just learning how to do hair, nails, and skin care. You’ll be getting the education you need for a successful career. The curriculum satisfies state requirements for professional licensing that prepares students for a wide variety of career paths in the beauty industry that can take you where you want to go.
COSMETOLOGY & HAIR DESIGN DETAILS
Total tuition is $21,675.00, which includes all books, kits, uniforms, and supplies. Payment options include paying in full, monthly installments, Pell Grants (if eligible), Direct Student Loans, PA Forward Loans, and scholarships.
Full Time: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (9 Months) Part Time: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (15 Months).
Here are our class start dates for 2026: January 12th 2026, February 2nd 2026, March 2nd 2026, April 13th 2026, May 4th 2026, June1st 2026, July 13th 2026, August 3rd 2026, Sept 14th 2026, October 5th 2026, November 2nd 2026, December 7th 2026.
You will receive two (2) uniform sets and a comprehensive kit featuring professional styling tools, a wax kit, a makeup kit with certification, skin care, nail, and hair extension kits (with certification). These tools are designed to take you from school into your professional salon career.
To graduate and receive your diploma, you must complete 1,250 hours, perform all required services, pass your exams, and fulfill all financial obligations to the school.
Students use the Milady's Standard Cosmetology Textbook and the Interactive CIMA online code.
STUDENT SALON & SPA
ONCE A STUDENT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE 0 – 300 HOUR FUNDAMENTAL CURRICULUM YOU WILL GAIN HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IN OUR STUDENT SALON & SPA.
The clinic service floor is a full-service, non-request teaching salon that allows students to apply their communication & consultation skills to live models and their practical skills to a variety of hair textures and types. Students work on clients under the direct supervision of Clinic instructors. All work is evaluated and recorded daily.
Students come from far and wide to attend our beauty school! You’ll be able to attend your beauty classes with other fun individuals who are also serious about starting their careers as cosmetologists.

We are accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences, and are members of multiple organizations, including the Pennsylvania Cosmetology Association so that we can provide the very best cosmetology education possible to our students.
