Type One: Straight Hair

Type Two: Wavy Hair

Wavy hair is characterized by having a slight natural wave or curl. Like straight hair, wavy hair can also be categorized as either fine or thick and dry or oily. If you have wavy hair, pay attention to the products you use. You’ll need something that will help define your waves and give them a bit of hold. And as always, be sure to use a heat protectant before using any hot styling tools.

Type Three: Curly Hair

Curly hair is characterized by having a tight, natural curl or wave. Curly hair is often dry and can be either fine or thick. The best way to take care of your curly hair is to learn as much as you can about your specific type of curl. This will help you figure out the best products and styling techniques to use. It will also prevent you from making common mistakes that can damage your hair.

Type Four: Coily Hair

Coily hair is characterized by having a very tight, natural curl or wave. Coily hair is usually dry and can be either fine or thick. If you have coily hair, you’ll need to use products that are specifically designed for your texture. Look for things like leave-in conditioners and curl creams that will help hydrate your strands and tame your frizz. You might also want to invest in a good diffuser to help dry your hair without damaging it.
