Tips for Curly Hair
First of all, you should know that curly hair is best styled when it is damp — not wet. Wet hair will only frizz up more and be harder to work with. So after you’ve shampooed and conditioned your hair, make sure to squeeze out any excess water before you start styling. You may also want to use a leave-in conditioner to help tame your curls and add some moisture.
Next, it’s time to choose the right products for your hair type. If you have fine, thin curls, you’ll want to use lightweight products that won’t weigh down your hair. On the other hand, if you have thick, coarse curls, you’ll need something a little heavier to help tame them. There are a lot of great curly hair products on the market — just experiment until you find something that works for you.
Now it’s time to choose the right styling tools. If you have fine, thin curls, you can use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to style your hair. But if you have thick, coarse curls, you’ll need to use a curling iron or diffuser to get the job done. And remember — when it comes to curly hair, less is definitely more!
One of the best ways to style curly hair is to simply let it air dry. If you have time, just put your hair up in a loose bun or braid and let it dry on its own. Once it’s dry, you can shake out your curls and they should fall into place nicely. When you don’t have time to air dry, make sure you’re using a diffuser on your blow dryer.
