Beginning Cosmetology Classes

If you’re just starting out and need to learn basic skills, start with one of our beginning courses!

Look forward to learning about and working with hair, skin, and nails. After completing the 1,250-hour program, you’ll learn how to design and complete manicures, design and create beautiful hair styles, and grow your communication skills so you can provide exceptional service to your clients. You will receive two uniform sets, styling tools, a wax kit, MUD Beauty Essentials makeup kit, and more.

Whether you want to work in a beauty salon or at a movie studio, this cosmetology class will help you master a variety of techniques, including base matching and application and contours and highlights. Our instructors will focus on makeup for the eyes and lips using a client favorite product – MUD Beauty Essentials. The 84-hour program includes a beauty essentials kit with all of the tools and materials you need.

With South Hills & North Hills Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh, you’ll learn so much more than just how to apply makeup. This 325-hour course includes instruction on human anatomy, chemistry, electricity, skin analysis, and conditions of the skin. Working in our student spa, you’ll learn how to wax, apply makeup, use facial machines, and complete full body treatments.

Did you always paint your friend’s nails as a child? If so, this 300-hour course is perfect. Our instructors will teach a variety of techniques, including basic, spa, and paraffin manicures and pedicures, tips, gel nails, nail art, air brushing, sculptured nails, and many more. Our Pittsburgh cosmetology school will supply products, tools, and materials.

Advanced Classes

If you’re looking to continue your education or earn advanced skills to further your career, check out these advanced classes.

Provide your clients with service that goes above and beyond. This two-day course includes instruction on how to work with hyperpigmentation, acne, and oily skin in order to provide clients with more youthful, healthier, and smoother skin. You’ll receive hands-on practice using peels, a diamond tip machine, and other techniques.

It’s just a quick afternoon to get an advanced certification and hands-on practice with Elleebana lash lift products. Students will receive 15 setting and lifting lotions, lash lift isolator tool, makeup remover, and more. This cosmetology course is offered at our South Hills location on West Liberty Ave in Pittsburgh.

Applying makeup is truly an artistic skill that takes training and practice. With this one-day class, you’ll learn how to apply foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, and more, as well as how to work with various clients with unique skin tones and facial features.

This two-day course will teach you how to apply Lash Affair products with a special focus on safety. This course is taught by a Lash Affair instructor, ensuring you learn exactly what you need to provide your clients with an exceptional service. You will receive a classic kit that includes several tweezers, practice strip lashes, mascara, and more.
