This course is designed for those students who wish to specialize in the arts and sciences of Nail Technology.

South Hills and North Hills Beauty Academy will train you in these sciences and technology in the care of the hands and feet. Your course work will include theoretical as well as practical studies in manicuring, the application of artificial nails, sculptured nails, nail artistry, airbrushing, therapeutic hand and foot massage, and pedicuring. You will receive hands-on training in the school's salon like clinic where we provide nail services to the public.

Electrology Course

Unwanted hair has presented problems to individuals for thousands of years. As an electrology student today, you will study early methods of hair removal, and then learn the terminology of current electrology techniques and equipment.

When performed by a competent electrologist, the permanent method of hair removal becomes the most practical as well as the most economical solution to the problem of superfluous hair.

Our Electrology program is designed to prepare all students for certification leading to employment. After successfully completing the electrology program, graduates will receive a diploma and certification of Electrology.

Brush Up Courses

Any cosmetologist who is interested in becoming more proficient in certain areas of cosmetology will benefit by this refresher course. This course may also be utilized by students who feel the need to review procedures prior to taking State Board Examinations.

Our Brush-up Course is designed to enhance the skills of any cosmetology professional who is interested in becoming more proficient in the techniques of the Industry.

The brush-up course is opened to hair stylists, nail technicians, skin care specialists, and cosmetology instructors.

The course is a minimum of one week (thirty hours) brush-up on any aspect pertaining to your career field. Or perhaps you are interested in brushing up to prepare for your state board examination.

Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks (1000)
(Fall 2008 South Hills Location only)

Our Massage therapy program is designed for individuals seeking a career in therapeutic massage therapy and body work. At South Hills Beauty Academy we will teach you a wide range of massage techniques. We will train you to assess clients individual needs and have the knowledge to develop a customized massage program to meet those needs.

In this program you will gain knowledge in Sweedish massage, Prenatal Massage, Athletic Sports Massage, Lymph Massage, Chair Massage, Reflexology/Shiatsu massage, Spa Modalities and Spa Treatments, Stone Massage and more.

You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on practical experience in the student clinic. You will use the massage skills you have learned to practice on clients and the general public. As a massage therapist you can start your own business. You can seek employment in Spa Resorts, Hotels, Salons, Wellness Centers, Massage Clinics, Sports Teams, Cruise Lines and Chiropractic Offices.

Upon completion of the 1000 hour program you will receive a diploma that certifies completion of our Therapeutic Massage/Bodyworks Program and will be prepared for an entry-level position as a massage therapist.  With our program requirements our graduates are approved to tak the National Certification Exam (NCETMB) of the National Certifiacation Board for Massage Therapy & Bodywork.
